The school has a fully networked Computing Suite. In addition each class has an interactive screen with access to the internet. There are 30 ipads available for classes to use across the curriculum. This allows children access to computing both individually, in groups or as a class. Each class also has digital cameras and video and sound recorders.
In keeping with the new computing curriculum children in Key Stage 1 are now taught how to create simple programs through coding. They learn what an algorithm is and how it works. They are also able to ‘debug’ simple programs by spotting and fixing errors in the coding.
The school subscribes to Education City – an on-line learning resource to which all children have access.
The school runs an after school Computing Club.
We aim to give pupils the confidence and skills needed to use information technology purposefully to create , organise, store manipulate and retrieve digital content.
