In Science we are learning about plants and flowers. We have learnt the different parts of a flower and why they are important.
We also learnt the difference between bulbs and seeds, and what plants need to grow. We then got to plant our own bulbs in the courtyard. We put them in the greenhouse to keep warm and safe.
Keep a look out for how our bulbs are growing!!
In P.E. this half term we are learning Dance. In our first lesson we learnt how to dance in beats of 8. This helps us to learn a dance using our beats of 8. In our first performance, we started as seeds, slowly growing into trees that sway in the wind and the gust of wind blows the leaves off the trees to the ground.

We absolutely loved dressing up and celebrating for World Book Day! We have a great assembly with Mrs Tutty-Lyons where we did a cat walk to show off our amazing outfits.
This half term we will be studying the artwork 'Sunflowers' by Vincent Van Gogh. We will begin by sketching the outline of the picture using light strokes. We will then develop and improve our picture, add some colour, ready to create our final piece of art.
11.3.22 -Today was our final sketch of our Sunflowers. We used flour and paint to add texture to our pictures and water colours for the background.
The children worked extremely hard and were all concentrating on precision and taking their time.
Our final pieces of work will be shared once they have dried!!
4.3.22 - On our second lesson, we looked at what we wanted to improve from our previous piece of art, ready for us to sketch the picture again. We looked at the different colours and shades in the picture and used them to add some colour to our sketch.
25.2.22 - We used light strokes to create the outline of the picture. We focused of the different shapes, high, and sizes of the flowers.
The children we very fortunate to have a dance workshop with Dance days. We learnt and performed a dance to the song 'Revolting Children' from the theatre show 'Matilda'.
