Personal, Social, Health/Sex Education

These are key aspects in the education of children for their lives now and as preparation for their adult lives. We hope that the caring ethos in the whole school will also help the children to develop respect for each other as well as themselves, and this will enable them to make a positive contribution to their communities in the future. British Values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty  and mutual respect for and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs and for those without faith are embedded throughout the curriculum and the ethos of the school.

We often contribute to charities and join in special occasions such as BBC Children in Need, Red Nose Day and Stand-Up to Cancer. We also regularly support the local children’s hospice.

Sex education for children of this age is supported by a policy (available through the school), but is age appropriate and focused mainly on growth and development at a level that the children can understand and relate to.
