Curriculum Intent

At Limes Farm Infant School we value Art and Design as an important part of a broad and balanced curriculum. It provides our children the opportunity to explore a range of different ways in which they can express their creativity and individuality, whilst learning about a wide spectrum of different types of art in different periods and cultures. Art and Design promotes careful observation and a sense of wonder about the world around us. A high quality art and design education should engage, inspire and challenge children, equipping them with the knowledge of skills to experiment, invent and create.

Design and Technology

Curriculum Intent

Design and Technology is an inspiring, rigorous and practical subject. It encourages children to learn to think and intervene creatively to solve problems both as individuals and as members of a team. It enables our children to develop resilience, perseverance and communication skills as they learn to approach problems with increased confidence. Limes Farm Infant and Nursery School strives to inspire our children in developing their practical skills by designing and making purposeful products, whilst experimenting with design, texture, form and function.
