Remembering Her Majesty The Queen 1926-2022

At Limes Farm Infant School and Nursery we celebrated the Queen's life in a special school assembly. We talked about our feelings, our sadness, how we are proud of all that she has achieved, and how inspirational she has been to us as a Nation.

The children talked about what they had learnt last summer and how we celebrated her jubilee. The children are painting flowers for her memorial, they have also been writing messages for her card, which will be taken personally to Buckingham Palace tomorrow.

It is with the utmost sadness I write to you this morning as we join the nation in mourning the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, our longest reigning monarch.

We know that this news may affect many of us deeply but that you will approach the coming days and weeks with sensitivity and consideration.

Further guidance will follow in the coming days from the Department for Education regarding the mourning period and action that might need to be taken. We will write to you again when this is issued.

With greatest sorrow at this sad time.
