    Fri 19 Jun 2020

    Dear Parents/Carers,

Well that’s the end of our second week of Opening to More Children and it certainly has been as successful as our first week. The children seem to be really enjoying it and I’ve had a few comments along the lines of ‘this has been the best day ever’.  For us, as teachers, it’s very unusual and feels very alien to us to teach in the way we are having to; but it just shows you how adaptable and resilient your children are, and you should be very proud of the way they have taken on board the rigorous safety features that are in place.

Parents who have children in school already

Please could I remind all parents whose children are coming into school that there are very strict rules and guidance that need to be adhered to. All of these items are on my letters of both 22nd May and 4th June. These can be found on the website and have been left as Word documents so that you can use Google Translate.  We have these rules in place to keep everyone safe, please respect them.

Parents in Reception and Year 1 who are thinking of their children returning

Could I remind you that if you wish your Reception and Year 1 children to be allotted a bubble, you need to contact louise.jenkins@limesfarm-inf.essex.sch.uk by 3pm on Wednesday of every week. You must then wait until the following week to bring your child in, you cannot come on the Thursday and Friday of the same week. We have to prepare and plan for your children and this gives us time to again ensure everything and everyone is safe.

    Transition

Plans are now underway to have every child participate in transition during the week of 13-17th July. We plan to have a small session for a small amount of children to say goodbye to their old teacher and say hello to their new one and to know their new class.  There will be approximately 4 sessions each day for different classes over the week. We will let you know more as soon as it is finalised. We are also looking to invite Nursery leavers to a ‘wave goodbye’.

    New Reception Intake

Miss Taylor and I are looking to plan how the new Reception children will come into school in September and also the usual New Reception Intake Parent Meeting that we have.  It would seem that it is now going to need to be in September rather than us being able to accommodate this in June/July as normal. We hope to provide details of this soon.  As with everything at the moment, we are always awaiting Government Guidance and the plans for September is no exception, and as this is such a fluid situation is subject to change.

    Reminder – end of Term

School ends to all Reception and Year 1 bubbles other than the Essential Worker bubble on 10th July. Please do not bring your children beyond this date, other than for their transition time.

Essential Worker children will end School on 17th July and in order that we do not cross contaminate any children or bubbles, they will be said goodbye to by their teacher within this bubble and said hello to by their new teacher in this bubble, unless you decide that they would only come in for their transition time that week. If you do decide this, please could you email Louise Jenkins on the above email to advise of this.

Thank you for your ongoing support, please stay safe.

    Kind Regards,

    Ann Grisley

  • Newsletter 12th June

    Fri 12 Jun 2020

    Dear Parents/Carers,

As our first week of Opening to More children comes to a close, I am pleased to be able to tell you that it has been very successful, if not a bit strange but has been lovely to see some of the children.

However, I have to tell you that we have very limited capacity due to the social distancing rules of 2m per child and consequently this means that I can only offer a very limited amount of spaces within a Reception or Year 1 bubble and therefore we have had to begin a waiting list. I am sorry but once we are full up we cannot alter as we do not have the staff or the space.

    Transition

Going forward, we would ultimately like to see all of the children before the end of term.  In reality this is not going to be like a normal day of school.  We are currently looking into carrying out transition which would mean that the children could say ‘goodbye’ to their old teacher and ‘hello’ to their new one and they would then know which class they are in and with which staff.  The amount of children that will be able to come in will be limited. We will not be able to have a ‘whole class’ at the same time. Again, I ask for your patience on this, as you can imagine it is a logistical nightmare in ensuring not too many children in at once.  However, the good news is that we plan to do this the week of 13th July – 17th July 2020. Further details will follow, but to be clear this will be for all the current children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2.

School End of Term for everyone

    Reception and Year 1 Bubbles

Consequently, as you will have just read we will be closing the school to ALL but the Essential Worker children on Friday 10th July 2020. No children will be allowed to come to school after this date unless they are carrying out transition or are Essential Worker children (standing rules apply).

    Essential Worker bubble

The children in this group’s last day of school will be Friday 17th July 2020.  We will ensure that these children will also get an opportunity to meet with their new teacher and say goodbye to their old one.

Please note the school will not be open to anybody in the summer holidays, including Essential Worker children, as per Government Guidance.

    Staff changes

After a very successful career at Limes Farm Infant School as a Learning Support Assistant and then as a Trainee Teacher, Mrs Langdell (currently teaching in Red Class) has successfully secured a teaching position within the London Borough of Redbridge and is therefore leaving us on Wednesday 1st July.  She has been an outstanding member of staff and we wish her very success in her new career.

    September

As you know I am leaving Limes Farm Infant School & Nursery in July, but am pleased to be able to say that I am leaving it in good hands. Miss Taylor will be Acting Headteacher from September 1st and Mrs Tutty-Lyons will be Acting Deputy Headteacher.  I know that you will give them the same support that you have given me.

We do not know what or how schooling and education will look like in September but be reassured that as ever we will follow all guidance given and ensure that everyone at Limes Farm Infant School & Nursery remain safe.  I hope that you are all remaining safe and well, and will be in touch regarding transition soon.

Thank you as ever for your support.

    Kind regards
